About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Student and Traveler !

ABOUT ME

I'm Marie, 24 years old, French student in agriculture (Msc in organic agriculture). I love travelling for meeting people, discovering new landscapes, speaking of our origin (country, culture, ...). One of my dreams is to know each country of the earth! I'm rather tolerant, open-minded and a bit hyperactive! I like cooking, doing sport (trekking, cyclism, basketball, skiing), listening to music (reggae, dub music, rap, electronic music and others!), playing music (tuba in a brassband, flute and guitar).

PHILOSOPHY

Carpe diem...

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I travellled around the world for one year and I knew about CS when I was in Peru through a friend. We used to stay weekends with Couchsurfers and I learned a lot from that. I understood that CS is more than "hosting" or "being hosted", but it's a way to make friends, to discover the local culture, to exchange travel tips with other couchsurfers, to share our cultures and knowledge.
When I was in Vancouver, I spent 2 weeks with my boyfriend with Couchsurfers, and it was a very great experience... We shared meals with them, we visited the place, we went to the restaurant together, etc.
I went then to Nepal for volunteering in a NGO, and looked for Couchsurfers in Kathmandu as I was not accomodated by this NGO. I met very good and fair people there, and I had a lot of fun during CS events in different places in Thamel in Kathmandu!
Finally, I travelled for a few weeks with my best friend through Jordan and Israel and we only use CS to find accomodations. I think I had several of my best CSexperiences there (particularly with Sam in Aqaba, Shai in Be'er Sheva and Ira in Jerusalem) because they were so interesting and open-minded people!!!
It's incredible the diversity of people you can meet through CS, and it's so good to realize that as soon as we meet, all is right and let's have fun together!
It's why when I came back to France, I was willing to host people and try to do my best to make them enjoying their stay.
Currently, I'm staying in the Netherlands for my studies (in Wageningen), but I still want to host people!
