ABOUT ME

I'm in the exciting/scary, self-created position of being on my own after spending an adult lifetime being in two serial, long-term relationships, so am embracing the weirdness and oddity of being alone for only the second time in my life.

I have the freedom to do what I want, when I want and love the idea of offering a short-term place to stay to people who are exploring the world.

This is my first go - hence joining this site.

Interests

Playing and performing music. I've been a lead singer in several bands, am improving my guitar and piano playing and hope to develop my song-writing skills in the months to come.

I stopped watching transmitted TV in January this year, but love the movies and selected box set TV series.

I'm a competent cook and get a lot of pleasure from it. At time of writing, June 30th, I am about to embark on a fresh juice diet to see how that affects my health.

I am an avid reader and usually have half a dozen books on the go, from all sorts of novels thru biographies to non-fiction and spiritual matters.

Lastly, I'm on the verge of getting a new motorbike for myself as I have just taken and passed my UK bike license and plan to do day rides and longer trips on the back of a mid-range cruiser or tourer.

I lived in South Africa for 9 years in the 80s/90s and voted for the ANC/ Nelson Mandela in the new dispensation in 1994.
