About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To continue mentally writing my life's journey. Current themes: determiniation, optimisim, stepping into your own happiness and the importance of seeing the world.

ABOUT ME

Well, in short, I live my life one day at a time. I have found that this is the best way for me to find my own happiness - and so far I don't regret one day of it.

-----If you want to read more----

I grew up in California, where I lived about 96% of my life, and once I was able to get out and make decisions on my own that is when I discovered that there are endless amounts of amazing opportunities in this world. In college, I studied Art History and French (best educational decisions ever made). My choice of studies lured me out of the small "hick town" I was raised in and brought me to one of the most culturally represented and artistic cities across the U.S - Los Angeles. Upon graduation, I then decided to move to Lyon, France (where I am now) to test the waters of a job that I had no experience with - teaching to primary students - but let's be honest, my motivation to live in France was not to work, but to further my personal development by immersing myself in a different culture than my own, by meeting infinite amounts of interesting people and by seeing the beauty of this world. The U.S is a beautiful country, but nothing beats stepping onto a land that has seen civilization for several thousands of years.

PHILOSOPHY

Since you can't change the past, and tomorrow isn't a promise, allow today's choices to determine your happiness.

Interests

Music: artists such as Minus the Bear, Iron & Wine, Say Anything, Regina Spektor, Death Cab for Cutie, Syd Matters, Beirut, The Black Keys and David Bowie. I LOVE the piano and I will one day be able to play more than just 2 songs.

Art: I have love for generally most art that isn't pretentious, but tells you something about the culture where it came from or something that was personally profound in the artist's life. My precise interests are in Contemporary Art (especially Indian Art) and European works ranging from the mid 19th century to the beginning of the 20th century. (Edouard Manet and Van Gogh are my favorites.)

Movies/Television: Modern Family, How I Met Your Mother, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, The United States of Leland, 500 Days of Summer, Knocked Up and Pretty in Pink.

Books: I am always ashamed to say that I am not much of a reader, but when I do get into a book, it is generally an inspiring story with interesting philosophies and an engaging character that I can relate to. I am also a big Harry Potter nerd ;)

Baking/Cooking: My mother never taught me to cook, but I have a deep interest in it. I often find myself Google-ing new recipes to try. Baking is more my thing, for that I ADORE sweets.

I love nature in general. I find that the most refreshing and rejuvenating activity is to be outside laying on grass, walking next to a large body of water or being surrounded by trees. I also love nights. The stars and the moon are the most fascinating things that I find about our universe.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Italy was the most amazing country I have seen. It was absolutely surreal walking in both Rome and Florence. Every corner you turn you see ruins and famous historical pieces of art that have been there for over two thousand years ago. Italy left me speechless.

France, Italy, Jamaica, Mexico, Netherlands, Switzerland, United Kingdom
