About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Traveling around Japan before going to New Zealand.

ABOUT ME

Hi I'm Andy,
I have been living here in Japan for a little over a year now with my partner Mana. We are preparing to move to New Zealand and trying to see as much of Japan before we go.

I can speak a little Nihongo but I am very lucky to have Mana to tanslate and teach me. Mana's English is excelent as she lived for 3 years in Australia and New Zealand.

We both love traveling, making new friends, playing with children, music, food and good conversation.

PHILOSOPHY

Happiness does not decrease by being shared.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Would love to host CS'ers when we have a place of our own one day.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I stayed with really nice man in Edinburgh, Scotland. He was super busy but very friendly and I had a great time meeting his friends, sharing food and listening to music at the place where he worked.

I had an amazing time with a man in Morocco. We went to the desert and stayed with his relatives in a kasbah.

Mana and I also stayed with a lovely family in India. We enjoyed playing hide and seek with their daughter and sharing food together.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

On my way to Scotland I went to Cambodia and Viet Nam. I cycled 350km through rural Cambodia with 20 other people from NZ and Australia as a fundraiser for Oxfam. I managed to get off the tourist trail quite a bit and had some amazing experiences staying with local families (no couches, its sleeping strait on the wooden floor)

Mana and I recently had an amazing time in India where we spent 5 weeks volunteering at a reforestation project. We meet so many amazing people and learnt a lot too. If you are in southern India I can highly recommend Sadhana forest.

Countries I’ve Visited

Cambodia, Cook Islands, Fiji, France, Germany, Greece, India, Italy, Laos, Morocco, Nepal, Netherlands, Samoa, South Korea, Spain, Switzerland, Thailand, Tonga, United Kingdom, United States, Viet Nam

Countries I’ve Lived In

Australia, Canada, Japan, New Zealand
