ABOUT ME

We're pretty easy going people. We get along with just about everyone and are happy to help anyone travelling through Cape Breton. We love food. Period. We are currently experimenting with foods from around the world so if you stop in you are more than welcome to join us for supper but you may end up with something interesting on your plate. Chad has been playing guitar for nearly a decade and loves nothing more than sitting down to jam with people. He also works as a drafter in the area but prefers the more hands on aspects of electronics so no guarantees but if your electronic break on the road he may be able to make them work for you. Amanda enjoys nothing more than a good story. Whether it be on paper, in a film, or in a conversation. We both enjoy meeting new people so let us know when your in the area and we'll do what we can to improve your trip around the island.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We've met with a few surfers in the area but that is the extent of our couch surfing experience; however, starting in January we should have a surfable couch and when that happens we will be more than happy to host.

Interessi

We like to learn, be active, and experience everything we can. We can always appreciate a good book, movie or play. We love to spend time outside; a day outside whether on a beach, in a car, or hiking through the woods is always welcome. Amanda has a passion for history and languages (which feeds her love of travel). While music is what keeps Chad moving. Above all we love to experience something, anything, new and exciting.

Musica, film e libri

As far as movies I am the friend that is taken to the movies that nobody else wants to go to because I enjoy just about all of them. I especially enjoyed Jeux d'Enfant, The Great Debaters, la Vie Fabuleux d'Amelie Poulain, The Notebook, Bienvenue Chez les Ch'Tis, and Chicago. I will listen to just about any music but I am not a big fan of metal, rap or anything with a lot of screaming. I like something with a good beat, something calm and quiet, and although I am still exploring classical music I really enjoy it as well. I have read and loved too many books to name any. I love the classics, the new thrillers and romance, the historical, autobiographical... In general if it has words I will read it.

Una cosa incredibile che ho fatto

I don't know if I have really low expectations or what but I have seen many amazing things. Mostly small things like the sunset from the top of a mountain or a sunset at the foot of one. The surprise in someone's eyes when they learn something new or the happiness when they see someone they love. We're surrounded by amazing things...

Teach us anything. We're happy to learn.
We're not really sure what skills we have that we can teach others but Amanda can find her way around the kitchen and is happy to cook or bake with anyone interested while Chad will happily show anyone with fingers their way around the guitar.
