ABOUT ME
I'm a journalist living and working in New York City for four years, just trying to enjoy life while I figure out where it's taking me exactly. I'm a southern belle by birthright, but I'm a city girl at heart. I love the CS community because it's generally filled with people who have truly unique and welcoming personalities and a beautiful outlook on life. Hoping some of that good energy has rubbed off on me during my travels!
PHILOSOPHY
Postpone nothing!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I spent four months in Chile in 2009 and couchsurfed there for the first time, following it up with surfing in Argentina and Peru. I've also surfed in Brazil and Turkey. I haven't looked back since...it has opened me up to meeting so many incredible new people and friends I will keep for a lifetime.
Interests
Music, DANCING, bike riding all over, doing things that terrify my mother: sky diving, rafting, cliff jumping, hiking, bungee jumping (though I haven't done it yet!), zip-lining. I also love painting, drawing and reading, although time is moving so fast these days it's hard to make time for these like I used to. My favorite sport is biking, but I don't compete. It's become a huge part of my life in the last two years.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Hands down...during my solo travels in Peru, I hiked up to the incan ruins in Machupicchu and then to Mt. waynapicchu. Never felt more proud of myself than when I was up there alone staring down at ruins that were thousands of years old and knowing I had made it there on my own. Next time I visit Machupicchu (and there will be a next time) it will be to do the Inca trail and really see what stuff I'm made of.
Teach, Learn, Share
I have much to learn. I love to share travel stories with others but these days I talk about biking more than anything else. I think they both go hand in hand though and I'm glad to help anyone learn how to incorporate biking into their travels, especially as a new way to experience places.
