My name is Mandy and I'm 25 years old. I live in The Netherlands with my family. I live with my mom, dad, younger sister and our dog, but I'm planning on getting my own house when I get back from travelling. I work as a social worker in a rehabilitation program for ex-prisoners. I love my job, which is an important part of my life.

I took some time off work and currently I'm traveling Southern Africa as a solo traveler. I absolutely LOVE it! I love to meet new people and learn about their life. I like to get to know the locals and the local experience.

I love music and listening to music is a part of my daily lifestyle. I listen to almost every genre. I like to visit concerts, what I do frequently. I love to go out and dance or just enjoy the music. I also like to read books, mostly educational books about psychology or real life story's. I don't watch a lot of TV, but I like to go to the cinema to watch a nice movie.

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

Coming to Africa was one of the most amazing things I've done. In 2013 I went to Tanzania to work as a volunteer for two months. I worked at a building project where I helped to build a school and a dorm in a Masai village. I also worked at an orphanage and I was teaching the children at school as well. After visiting Africa my heart was so full that I had to come back. After my studies I decided to do a solo backpacking trip through Southern Africa.
Back home I've done a lot of internships as a social worker and nurse, where I got the opportunity to work with a lot of different people. I'm very proud of accomplishing both my studies in social work and all the experiences and jobs that I got during that proces.
