I'm just an average midwestern girl full of hopes, dreams and Minnesota Nice. I'm a bit of a homebody and I love to cook, drink wine, play games and tell stories about my adventures while dreaming of taking my "next trip" (which in this case is our honeymoon to Italy!). My husband goes to college and I work full time so we lead a splendidly busy yet satisfyingly lazy enough life that we are just happy people. We would love for you to stop by, eat a bit of hotdish, drink a bit of wine and tell us who you are.

I simply like people and enjoy hearing about their lives and experiences. I find a lot of beauty in language and I enjoy listening to people speak, especially in languages other than English. But I would say that although I am drawn to the serene, peaceful lifestyle that Moorhead provides, the biggest reason I enjoy having couchsufers stay with us is to bring something new and exciting into our lives every once and awhile.

I love learning new languages, dancing (free-style...I have never had any formal dance lessons), working out occasionally (usually something fun like Zumba or jogging outside on nice days watching the squirrels), travelling, cooking and trying new ingredients/spices/cooking techniques even if they end in disaster sometimes, and watching comedians on tv (I do love to laugh).

I'm not really a person who gets hooked on any particular author or actor or singer. What I like, I like; what I don't, I don't. Trivial Pursuit is my downfall. If you want to talk about famous people or movies or songs, I am NOT your girl. I know nothing. You WILL be appalled.

On New Year's Day I was in Kairkoura New Zealand with a friend and we went on a boat to see the dolphins. It was a gorgeous sunny day and all of the sudden we were surrounded by a pod of about 200 dolphins with their babies swimming along the boat. It was an incredible sight to see, especially the mommy dolphins pushing their babies up to the surface of the water to get a breath of air. A GREAT way to start the new year!

I don't learn well by doing research or reading books or online articles about far away places so I love meeting people who can share stories about experiences I have never had. I want to live vicariously through the adventures of others during the times that I am not able to travel myself. With a good imagination, you can do anything you want to do.
