I recently finished my masters study and am now celebrating by exploring America over the next month and a half. I am a friendly and sociable individual who enjoys exploring new places, especially hiking or wandering through natural environments. I also love to be around the water and will very happily laze on a beach. When visiting new places, learning about the local culture is very important to me and I will gladly spend hours in a museum trying to soak in the exhibits. I am not a party animal but do enjoy the causal drink - a nice cold glass of beer is always appreciated.

Background: I have lived in New Zealand for all of my life, spending time in both the north and south island, I have an indian heritage but also identify with the kiwi culture.

I am easy going. Of course I would like to spend time with the people who are hosting me but I understand that you are busy and am therefore happy to get out and do my own thing.

I am new to couchsurfing and haven't tried it before, I have heard wonderful things about it. Some of my friends who tried it said that they met the most amazing people and made great new friends. I hope to do the same.

To meet interesting individuals from around the globe and to learn about their perspective of the world. To get a more realistic and well rounded idea of what it's like to live in the areas I hope to visit, rather than scratching the surface by doing only touristy things.

I enjoy most genres of music and generally go through phases. At the moments I'm listening to Kendrick and Jhene Aiko a lot. My favourite band is the Arctic Monkeys.

It's been a while since I read a novel, the last things I read was perks of being a wall flower and gone girl.

Comedies are my fave. I don't have any favourites but I watched Dope and Spy recently and they were great.

Camping in the Sahara desert for a night. Watching the stars throughout the night as I lay beside the campfire was an incredible, unforgettable experience.
