Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I can't surf on water, couches tend to remain still, so it's easier to surf on them.

Interests

I am a person who is interested in all aspects of life.
My chosen profession is archaeology, but my interests and appetite for learning reach much farther.
I get a kick out of learning languages and the cultures to which they appertain. On my travels I strive to speak in the native language of the country I'm visiting, though unfortunatelly that (as yet) is not always possible - but im working on it.
I appreciate good music - mainly classical music (of the classical and romantic periods), but I often listen to the modern cacophony as well.
My preferred out-door activities are hiking, climbing, swimming, canoeing, bicycling, nordic skiing and sledging. If I ever muster up enough courage I might try snow-boarding.
My preferred in-door activities are cooking (inventing new and healthy recipes), reading (arhcaeology, history, science, philosophy,...,fiction, fantasy), board games (strategy) and computer games (D&D), all kinds of do-it-yourself and fix-it-yourself.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like scientific books & fantasy films - just to keep things in balance :)
