About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Connection with friends and family and Creating new relationships.

ABOUT ME

That she is the "life of the party" and he is a kooky "holy man". :0)
She: I think that I am a bit of a border collie who likes to be sure everyone is having a good time and no one is left out. I have mellowed into my thirties, but I don't think anyone would say I have lost my lust for talking to strangers and collecting experiences.
He: I love life. Enjoy outdoors. Casual parties with friends. Trying new sports and activities. He thinks that fire dancing is next.

PHILOSOPHY

"I yam what I yam, and that's all that I yam" - Popeye

It is important to appreciate and celebrate what makes you you.

also: Happiness is a powerful and personal choice...

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We have had the giant pleasure of connecting with Portland's CS community thorough some special friends. We went camping at SOAK 2012 and had a magical weekend in the woods with burners and surfers. From that weekend, we were really happy to have made some true friends.

Interests

Travel! Adventures in the area or ones you need a plane to get to.

We enjoy shows, music, friend time. Road trips are a favorite.

We are currently in the midst of a once in a lifetime trip to 10 countries in 10 months with projects in a couple countries that will last over a month.

Self Expression! Art, music, fun, talking about anything and everything - especially the taboo stuff.

Looking at cultures and how they work and don't work.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Most amazing moments in my life.
She:
1. Sitting on the banks of Lake Tanganyika in Tanzania drinking scotch with Jane Goodall. Later that month, swimming in Lake Tanganyika with new friends from Italy.

2. Taking a train across the countryside of western TZ, sitting on the windowsill with my body out of the moving car watching the full moon on the acacia trees, bushed hills and metal backs of the segmented train in front. Man, that was pretty.

3. Hand Gliding off a little mountain in Rio De Janeiro and landing on Barra Beach at the waves.
Skydiving in South Jersey with my dad when I was 18 years old.

4. Flying into Tanzania with Mount Kilimanjaro just beyond the window in pink wispy clouds.
Witnessing a shooting at very close range on the edge of a neighborhood outside of Salvador, Bahia, waiting for a bus at 11pm. No one was hurt that I saw, but I did get out of there pretty quickly when the police chased a gunman up a hill.

5. Playing capoeira at sunset on the beach in Bahia with the beautiful kids from a near by orphanage.

6. Taking a taxi from Salvador Bahia to Recife Brazil along the coast, our taxi driver friend turning off onto a dirt road, then stopping at a secluded coconut grove on a small beach, my friend plugging in her music to the taxi speakers and blasting notes, pulling down and drinking from fresh coconuts, swimming in the bluest water we ever saw, nearly getting pulled out to sea by the powerful undertow, dancing...

7. Visiting Amma's pink ashram in India, arriving at sunset, staying only 8 hours, soaking up the languages, the love, the people and the food, cabbing in out to a bus stop at midnight for the next step in our trip.
