Hi! My name is Manon and I come from a small rural community in Wales, Uk. I have lived in Mexico for the last couple of years with my partner Ángel who is from Estado de Hidalgo. We have been doing a Workaway for the last 6 months in Sayulita, Nayarit.

I work as a Welsh translator and English Teacher. I speak French and conversational Spanish and I am currently learning Japanese. I am vegan and enjoy cooking although I am used to living with people who aren't vegan as well and it is not a problem for me!

My partner and I have spent the last 7 years traveling and working together, doing house sittings and Workaways. We are really used to meeting people from all walks of life and staying in other peoples spaces and we are always respectful of our hosts privacy and of their way of doing things.

I created an account while I was in university just to see what is was about but I never actually used it! Then, I recently met someone who had used the platform and had a positive experience, which inspired me to try it properly. Having spent most of my life traveling and working remotely, I thought it would be a great way to connect with local people and learn about their cultures and lifestyles.

I love action and thriller films and also comedies. My current favourite author is Keigo Higashino, I really recommend his books if you like thrillers and mysteries. Also they have a really unusual feeling.

I can't think of anything specific but just traveling in general has been really enjoyable for me. I have been volunteering at the turtle sanctuary in Sayulita which has been an amazing experience to see the mother turtles laying eggs and helping to protect them from poachers.
