Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I have my couch, and am ready to host.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I am a rather reserved person, so am told, and spent all my teen years shutting myself off from people. That being the case, opening my apartment to random strangers felt like an extreme thing to do. It was an effort in the beginning, but I was lucky to have very friendly guests who made me realise that it is not that bad after all, to let people into ones life. What good is it, after all, if one visits a city and spends all the time with an X Box or a lonely planet guide with a bunch of tourists?
Interests
Travelling, reading, meeting new people, arty cinema, writing.
Music, Movies, and Books
Nabokov, Woolf, Genet, D H Lawrence, Marquez,....
I have got a big collection of arty and off beat movies. Some of my favourites include Before Night falls, The lives of others, The Indian runner, What's eating Gilbert Grape?, Mondo, O' fantasma, and the like. We would have a lot to talk if you are into Truffaut, Kubrick and Ozon.
With regard to music, I keep drifting to what I like at the moment. Belle and Sebastian, Arcade Fire, Sigor Ros, Bell Orchestre, Max Richter and Brick + Mortar currently feature in my playlist.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Random conversations with people on buses/ local trains. Friendly pets of random strangers. Being offered lifts by strangers in a new city, and a lot more.
