The reason why I use couch surfing:
Well, I am curious.
Asking someone to host you, or hosting someone is always a step into the unknown. In my experience most times it is worth it.

Especially if you are looking for a last minute host I encourage you to ask. I know the feeling of coming to a place and not knowing where to sleep. If I am at home I probably will accept you.
