ABOUT ME

My name is Manuel Leidinger, I'm 21 years old and I'm a law student.
In my free time I like meeting my friends, reading, travelling, learning and speaking foreign languages, performing with my band, debating, partying etc. I live in Freiburg. It's an awesome city with different, interesting and alternative people. Now as a member of CouchSurfing it would be a pleasure for me to show you my city and its coolest places. I'm looking forward to meeting you.

PHILOSOPHY

Difficult question. I don't keep to a special philosophy influencing my whole life. But there are some thoughts and ideologies I can identify with:
1. Be active and don't miss anything in life could be one example. I prefer taking part in any event than chilling out and doing nothing.
2. Another saying could be that luck arises from the small and tiny things in daily life.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Unfortunately, I cannot offer a Couch but I would love to get in contact with travellers visiting Freiburg in order to show them this beautiful city.
We can do some sightseeing or chill out in a nearby cafe.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

In March 2011 I've been on a trip to Hungary with friends. We stayed in Budapest for a few nights and had a great CouchSurfing experience. Our host was really dedicated and caring. Not only this journey but also the fact that lots of my friends are CouchSurfers convinced me of this project.

I prefer books by Latin American authors as Mario Vargas LLosa and Isabell Allende. I thought Carlos Ruiz Zafon from Spain also wrote really well.
Referring to music I'm interested in nearly every type of it. Some artists I really like are Adele, John Mayer, The Kooks, Paolo Nutini, Norah Jones...
I really enjoy watching movies directed by the German comedian Loriot. A movie I really liked was called " La teta asustada" directed by Claudia Llosa.

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

1. I guess I had one of these moments when I was travelling around in Bolivia and Peru in 2010. For the first time, I went on a trip on my own. When I arrived in Machu Picchu (Peru) for example seeing these amazing ruins I just felt happy and balanced. I had the chance to discover myself during this trip.
2. Another moment that left me awestruck was the farewell from my host family in Canada in 2008. In grade 11 I spent half a year in Winnipeg/Manitoba and visited a Canadian high school over there. Although Winnipeg is a city I can't really recommend I had an unforgettable time with my host family. They gave me another home 1000s of km away from Germany. When we said goodbye in february 2008 suppressing tears I realized that a long lasting friendship had developed between us.
