About Me

🌍 Hi! I’m Martha — a creative soul from Lima, Peru 🎨🧋🌎

I work in Human Resources, I’m a UX/UI designer, and also an indie video game developer — a mix that lets me blend empathy, creativity, and tech into everything I do. I’m passionate about designing meaningful experiences and connecting with people from all walks of life.

I’ve been fortunate to receive several international scholarships, including from the University of Arizona, Kyungdong University in South Korea, CVA Peru, and the Samurai Scholarship for game development. These experiences allowed me to explore the world, learn from different cultures, and constantly grow.

I’m a proud foodie, in love with Japanese food 🍣, Italian pasta 🇮🇹, and Argentine steak 🥩. I’m always on the lookout for beautiful, delicious, and Instagram-worthy spots wherever I go. I'm also obsessed with photography, dancing, video games, creating, and just wandering around new places to discover their hidden gems.

I speak Spanish and English fluently, and I’m currently learning a bit of Chinese, Italian, and Portuguese. I absolutely love languages and I’m always open to learning more or improving what I already know — especially through real conversations with locals.

I don’t drink coffee, but I’ll happily join you for a bubble tea 🧋 and great conversation! To me, Couchsurfing is not just about travel — it’s about real human connection, sharing stories, and making memories across borders.

If you’d like to share a walk, a local meal, or a fun creative afternoon, I’d love to meet you!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Because I believe that the best way to truly experience a place is through its people.

I’m on Couchsurfing to connect with locals, share stories, learn new perspectives, and build genuine friendships around the world. I don’t just want to visit places — I want to understand them, feel them, and create unforgettable memories through meaningful human connection.

I’ve seen how powerful cultural exchange can be. I want to keep that energy alive — whether it's through sharing a home-cooked meal, exploring your favorite spots in the city, or simply talking about life over bubble tea 🧋.

Couchsurfing represents everything I love about travel: openness, kindness, curiosity, and the magic of serendipity.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love music that moves your soul or your feet — from chill lo-fi beats to Latin rhythms, indie rock, rock, and pop🎶
Movies? Give me inspiring stories, animated masterpieces, or a good action or sci-fi with heart.
One of my favorite books is "The Purpose Driven Life" by Rick Warren, a powerful read that helped me reflect on life’s bigger picture. 📖✨

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One amazing thing I’ve done is working on a project for river water conservation. It was a meaningful and eye-opening experience that showed me how small actions can make a big environmental impact. 🌱🌊

Teach, Learn, Share

I’d love to teach Spanish — my native language from Perú 🇵🇪 — and I enjoy helping others improve their pronunciation and conversational skills with patience and fun!
I’m also passionate about learning languages, so I’m currently exploring Chinese, Italian, and Portuguese, and always eager to improve.
And if you’re into design, games or creativity, I’d love to share knowledge and ideas too! 🎨🎮🧠

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share my culture, stories from Peru and abroad, fun language exchanges, playlists, homemade food or snacks, and a good dose of positivity and curiosity.
If you're into photography, design, food, or just looking for a kind guest who respects your space — I’m your person! 🌍💬📸
