About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Experience all the variety that the world has to offer.
ABOUT ME
I am a pleasant (I have been told, at least) 18 yrs old American travelling in Southeast Asia for 6 months with my equally amicable boyfriend, John (JohndeLace on couchsurfing).
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Right now, looking for like minded people who can share a couch in exchange for good company and whatever help is needed. Fully plan to return the favor once I am reunited with my open couch!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
My boyfriend and I stayed in a small Thai village with a seasoned host who had other couchsurfers with him at the time. We were delighted at the quid pro quo system he had established that allowed him to successfully house and coexist with so many different travellers.
Interests
Anthropology, film, journalism, archaeology, astronomy, drawing with felt tipped pens and oil pastels, printmaking, painting and collaging, wearing and procuring jewelery during travels, saving esoteric beer labels, eating out, cooking a nice meal after having eaten out too many days in a row.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Visiting Israel shifted my perspective on human nature. Witnessing the grave cultural clash between Arabs and Israelis, even in a time of relative peace and calm, made me realize that there are some conflicts that may be too huge to be bridged. But at the same time witnessing some of the sites where three of the world's great religions, which now seem incredibly distant and at odds, originated and overlapped and shared philosophies gave me hope that differences that seem irreconcilable can be overcome in rediscovering common ground.
