ABOUT ME

well.. I'll start by saying i'm "just me, mara". A simple girl from Uruguay who 4 years ago decided to come to Barcelona, a city that each day I love more and more! Beach, mountains, amazing people, culture.. this city has it all!
Here I am studying and in a couple of months probably also working teaching english (fingers crossed).

I find nature really amazing, with all it's human animals, non-human animals and perfectly designed plants. What a world we live in! =) And how important it is to live in it in a respectfull and sustainable manner!
I am studying political sciences, which hope will give me tools to find the best way in which to contribute to my environment. It is up to us to make things better than they are. It is up to the individuals to stop participating in hurtfull activities, stop being part of the problems, and start being part of the solutions.

PHILOSOPHY

"Personal philosophy"? Waw putting it just like that makes it seem something easy to find! I guess I have certain philosophys that I like to live by, but regarding a major PERSONAL PHILOSOPHY: uf! I'm still in the process of finding it!
but luckily I have found some parts of the puzzle --> starting with RESPECT for ALL forms of life, THANK for every small thing we have and receive, BE present both for urself as for the people u love, SMILE! (there is no better medicine).

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I used to live in a house where I couldn't have couchsurfers over, but I've moved to a new place a few months ago =) So from now on: Wellcome!! ;)

Up until now I've stayed with people in a few places, and since I moved I've been hosting people as much as possible (usually don't have as much free time as I would like to..) Before becoming more active, I loved what CS represented; and lot's of friends that had CS told me wonders about the "couchsurfing experience". But know that I've become a more active member of the community, I love all of it! The people that have stayed over have all been lovely.
The experience continous... =)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Stayed with hosts in Wales, Edinbrough, and Amsterdam.
I've hosted girls from the USA, New Zealand, Germany, India. And a girl from Hong Kong who is coming soon =D
Also.. i participated in a bike tour through tulips organized by CS which I enjoyed very much =) and i'm loking forward to going to some CS meeting here in Barcelona

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The most amazing thing I've seen are the smiles.. Love... hope... happiness... of Cambodian children who have nothing at all.
The months I spent with them was the most magical months of my life.

Teach, Learn, Share

Teaching? mmm.. english, spanish, vegan cooking, ..
But more than "teaching" i'd prefer to learn things together with the other person.

learning? everything!! knowledge doesn't occupy space, and it's a wonderfull process!

Sharing? Moments, looks, places, a moment of silence, views of the world, a jazz concert, an interesting conversation, a very silly conversation, walks, music. Everying shared has an extra point in favor ;) =)!
