Trying to find my inner Amanda Palmer and learn the art of asking.

Much more of an introvert - I'd rather spend an evening at a small dinner party than out at a crowded club. I have an appreciation for the underappreciated.

PHILOSOPHY

I'm really still working on this, I think. That's one of the main objectives of this cross country road trip. But you know, basic things like respect others' agency and autonomy, don't be an ass, context is important, intent and outcome are so rarely coincident, etc.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Right now, mostly looking for a couch to land on for a night or two as I pass through, and friendly locals to show me the sights! More than happy to offer a crash pad at the Gunks when I get back home, though.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Not too many couchsurfing experiences...but I went to France on foreign exchange in high school and loved staying with my host families.

Música, películas y libros

I am a huge fantasy geek. I'm especially into Tolkien, but Martin's ASOIAF is a close second. I've also gotten more into Brandon Sanderson since finishing WoT. And Neil Gaiman. Lots of Neil Gaiman.

Counting Crows is my favorite band, but I will listen to almost anything. I'm very partial to folk rock, especially from the '60's and '70's.

I'm not that into movies. If I had a nickel for every time someone exclaimed, "You haven't seen that?!?" I could retire early. I'm not against watching them, though. I really enjoyed Pan's Labyrinth, and I watch documentaries every so often on Netflix.

The sunrise from on top of Haleakala is pretty amazing. Sunset on top of Windy Peak in Nevada is also gorgeous.

Enseña, aprende, comparte

I can teach you the fine art of tricam placements. I can show you some basic chords on the uke, but I'd love to be better at it! I wish I could grow two more fingers and play guitar. I suffer from knitter's ADD, which means I never finish any projects, but I can show you how to (and I can crochet as well). I can cook a mean adobo.
