I like to travel (obvious) and host others. Exchange stories. Work on an old boat and sail every summer up the coast of Maine with two mates. Politically left of center, but empathetic to others with different beliefs. Born Jewish, sort of a Buddhist. Like to cook for others and eat with them. Believe in the supreme importance of play. Laughter too. And the democratic theory of art and music (all can do). Like to garden, read, bike, dance, learn (autodidact), sign petitions and act-up when necessary. leave things better than I found them if at all possible. Share what I know. Volunteered as ESL teacher and in hospice with elders. Have lived in a small autonomous commune (3 of us) for over 30 years. 61 chronologically -- but every other age inside!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I have loved to travel in States and abroad and value how it changes/opens me. My two siblings live overseas as well as my nieces/nephews. I spend time each summer on the water (crew on old wooden sailboat) and enjoy meeting others on the water -- sometimes those who have bravely sailed across the ocean. I have met some wonderful strangers who helped me while traveling and would like to return the gift.
