My name is Maya (originally Mara, but that's pretty impossible to pronounce for non-Dutch people), I'm 24 yrs old and I'm a student at Leiden University. I do a major in English language and culture, but also take a lot of courses in Hebrew and Judaism-related subjects. I grew up in Leiden, and after being a resident for 24 years, I think I can say I know the city pretty well. So if you love architecture, culture, history, beautiful gardens and history, I can tell you quite a lot about it. I love cooking, and would love to learn more (vegetarian) dishes!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm on Couchsurfing because I think it is a wonderful initiative. When I'm abroad I love to surf or to meet people to hang out with, and now that my place is big enough that I can host someone too, I am happy to return the favour to the community! I would love to meet new people, practice my English/Hebrew/German, and have a good time :)
