About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To enjoy every moment in Europe this summer while it lasts!

ABOUT ME

I'm a full-time student with the travel bug! I can't stay in any one place for too long without longing to explore the next. I've traveled around roughly 47 countries and have loved meeting locals and fellow travelers alike along the way. I like doing the typical touristy things, but most of all I like to meet locals and really get to know them and their culture. Going to cool spots that only locals could show me is the best!

Right now I live in California with family and have a crazy busy school schedule so I can't really host, but I am always open to meeting new people and hanging out. I love all kinds of music, dancing, drinking, and going to sports games even if I don't understand whats going on. Having grown up in Southern California, theme parks have always been at the top of my secret shame list. I usually jump at the chance to do anything outdoors- camping, hiking, kayaking, etc. so it shouldn't be surprising that I love anything that will give me an adrenaline rush. I hope to go skydiving and bungee jumping soon.

Oh! I almost forgot to mention that I really enjoy baking! I usually end up baking something for my surfers/hosts or we come up with something new and interesting together. Since every country has its own unique ingredients (most countries don't sell what they sell here in the US), it's really fun to create a new baked good with local ingredients. It usually turns out well... I'm starting to get into cooking too so it's definitely fun to get recipes and learn how to cook new dishes.

PHILOSOPHY

I just try to fill my life with as much happiness and positive things that I can. I'm a firm believer in treating others with kindness and respect.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I couchsurfed all over Europe and I've had the wonderful opportunity to host here in California once as well. Hopefully in the near future my school schedule will allow for hosting more people. I recommend CS to everyone who asks me for advice on traveling. I've met some of the nicest, most amazing people here and I couldn't be more grateful.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have had the most incredible experiences with couchsurfing and have made some great friends through this site. I went on a 6 month backpacking trip in 2011 and surfed quite a few couches, but I had a travel companion and we used that account. I have finally set up my own account which is super exciting since I'll be going back to Europe this summer and hope to surf some couches or even just meet some cool people to hang out with while I'm out there.

Interests

Traveling (of course), eating, music, dancing, movies, silly tv shows, things that make me laugh, friendship.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

There are so many amazing experiences to choose from so I can't pick just one. Kayaking with sea turtles in Hawaii at sunset, seeing the The Hermitage (winter palace) in St. Petersburg at night when it was rainy and the ground was glistening in the street light, sleeping in a park with 20+ fellow travelers I had just met waiting for the morning of the running of the bulls opening ceremony in Pamplona, accidentally boarding a drug cartel train to get from Serbia to Bulgaria (I wouldn't recommend that, but it was certainly an interesting experience), swimming in the Blue Lagoon in Iceland.

Countries I’ve Visited

Albania, Andorra, Austria, Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Cayman Islands, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Jamaica, Kosovo, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Macedonia, Mexico, Moldova, Monaco, Montenegro, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Russian Federation, San Marino, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, Ukraine, United Kingdom, United States, Vatican City State
