About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Listen, learn, serve.

ABOUT ME

I was born in Singapore and spent most of my childhood on one Southeast Asian college campus or another. I'm an urban nomad, a filmmaker, and the co-founder of a non-profit art collective called Traveling Muse Pictures.

PHILOSOPHY

I hope to always learn, always have room for surprise, and always be open to where the wind blows. I hope to always be an artist, a scientist, and a Godde-chaser. I hope to always be willing to serve, to be kind, and to actively stand with those who are denied equality.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've had a blast meeting people, hosted a few people back when I had a London flat, and joined a random party on a roof with a bunch of couchsurfers in London...it's been an excellent ride so far.

Interests

I have a passion for history, continual learning, Burning Man, fine art, poetry, cooking, and musty old bookstores.

Music, Movies, and Books

I have a pretty eclectic taste in music, ranging from Ani DiFranco and Natalie Merchant to mewithoutYou and the Carolina Chocolate Drops.

A few of my favorite films include The Fountain, The Decalogue, Lost in Translation, and Moonrise Kingdom.

I've been devouring books since I was pretty young, so it's tricky to create any concise list, but I'd include Flannery o'Connor, Madeline L'Engle, Maria Doria Russell, Neil Gaiman, Langston Hughes, and Pete Rollins on a list of favorite authors.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

In 2011, I spent five weeks undercover in Jamaica shooting a documentary about violent homophobia.

Countries I’ve Visited

Belgium, Cambodia, Canada, Egypt, France, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Kenya, Laos, Netherlands, Pakistan, Poland, Serbia, Singapore, South Korea, Switzerland, United Kingdom, Vatican City State
