I'm currently a Master's student in linguistics at the University of Eastern Finland in Joensuu. I'm from the United States and have lived in Chicago, Georgia, Florida, and Utah, but I spent most of my life in Georgia.

I love learning languages and came to Finland for graduate school to practice my Finnish and focus on Finnic languages. I'm also learning Karelian this year!

I've couchsurfed in several different cities and I've had a blast. I love meeting new people and having a bit of time to get to know them and hear their perspective on their city and country.

I value my relationships with people over pretty much anything else. My friends would call me loyal and nurturing.

I think it's a great way to meet people and learn things! While I'm in Scandinavia and Europe in general I hope to couchsurf while I travel and connect with people from all around.

Unfortunately, my current living situation doesn't allow me to host...maybe sometime in the future!

兴趣

As a linguist, I love languages. I focus on Finnic and Uralic linguistics in my grad program and hope to find ways to develop my skills in that area. My Finnish and Spanish are both pretty good and I'm always looking for ways to practice them. I'm still a beginner in French and Turkish, which I have studied only a year each.

I like to write short stories and hike in nature in my free time.

Love a good conversation on politics, religion, science, feminism, LGBT and race issues, or what policies and priorities in humanity will help to preserve our species and enhance everyone's quality of life!

I can also speak English with you if you're looking for a native speaker to practice with...although I hope you'll let me learn/practice some of your language as well.
