ABOUT ME

I'm a quiet man, introspective, a lover of nature. I like to be in the company of few friends, low music, good food. I'm not extremely cultured but I have many interests and so I am easily engaged in conversation.
I'm open-minded, and I like to learn new things and to meet people from different 'worlds'.

PHILOSOPHY

I just try to experience new ways of looking at the world and living in it. I actually have strong views and opinions about some topics, and a clear moral code, but I'm well aware that those are personal and I'm always interested by other people's lifestyles and point of views.
I think we can learn more from our differences with other people than from the similarities :)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I didn't really have 'couchsurfing' experiences yet, not from the site anyway. Actually, I decided to join after a particularly touching experience: I was walking the Via Francigena and when I got to Orbe, in Switzerland, a kind young man let me sleep at his house. He was so open and welcoming that it got me interested in the experience of hosting people from the world :) I think I will remember him fondly, because he took me in when I least expected it.

兴趣

I spend most of my free time alone, either playing the flute, writing (rarely), reading or wasting time on the computer :)
When I'm with people, I like quiet conversation, walking, watching music, having a beer or eating out.
I like to talk about visual arts, books, cooking, traveling. I'm bored by history, politics or sport, but I find almost any other topic interesting!

Movies: Underground, Goodbye Lenin, Waltz with Bashir, Kill Bill, the Royal Tenenbaums, Little Miss Sunshine, a Home at the End of the World, 3-Iron, Girl, Interrupted, Fight Club, Facing Windows, Pan's Labyrinth.....
Books: The House That, "il Giunco Mormorante" (no idea what the english title is), Girl Interrupted, a Hundred Years of Solitudine, the Malaussene Saga, quite a few non-fiction books...

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

I had two experiences of long walks (one month on the Camino Frances, 2010, two months on the Via Francigena, 2012). Both have been full of touching, emotional and unforgettable moments, either for the people I met or for the wonders of the land. Or just from the challenge, heh.
Aside from that, my fondest memories are from my friends, small moments of close intimacy. But I find it quite difficult to talk about them to outsiders, and still convey the feelings.
Other moments of awe, I have to say, have been from reading particularly enlightening books.

Mmm. I don't consider myself an expert in anything, really, but I dabble in a few things (flute playing, liquor-making, soap-making, baking bread), so we can do that together and learn both something :)
