About Me

CURRENT MISSION

France and Italy 2016!

Hey everyone. My name is Marcelo and I live in the great city of Los Angeles. I've been here as an adult for almost 8 years now so I'm officially allowed to call myself a Los Angelino, haha. I work for Disney, love what I do, and can say I'm very happy with life!

This is my Second year hosting during the summer. Last summer I had the good fortune to meet amazing, fun people including a great pair from Australia who I met up with when I visited their country. Great experience, great times. I'm looking forward to meeting good people from France and Italy.

So on behalf of all potential visitors to LA, allow me to say, Welcome And enjoy your stay!

PHILOSOPHY
Inaction and regrets are the worst things to have in this life. Don't think about it so much that you don't wind up doing anything. Take a chance! Might be the best thing you ever did.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am opening up my couch for good people visiting this city. One of the things you'll find great is how central I am to everything, meaning that I'm smack dab in the middle of LA so if you need to get to the beach (Santa Monica, Venice, Malibu), Hollywood, Beverly Hills, Silverlake, Los Feliz, Downtown, all while your visiting. Well my friends, you're in a good place.

Interests

DJing, dancing, meeting positive people, hiking, kayaking, whiskey, music, shows, food, and the list goes on.

  • dancing
  • dining
  • music
  • hiking
  • kayaking
  • scuba diving
  • beaches
  • mountains

Music, Movies, and Books

Last Two Books:
(1) "Charred and Scruffed" by Adam Perry Lang. Because it's summer and I've gone back to grilling. FYI - I'm counting this as a book because I use it regularly.

(2) "Me Talk Pretty One Day" - David Sedaris. Very, very funny book. I'll be reading this at a park or by the beach and startle people because I would laugh out loud out of nowhere, haha

Music - Classic Rock, Funk, Michael Jackson, Golden Oldies, The Temptations, Franki Valli and The Four Seasons, Peter Bjorn and John, Calvin Harris, Jay Z, Beyonce, Muse, Alabama Shakes, CHVRCHES, Phantogram, Bleachers, Black Keys, Mr. Little Jeans, The War On Drugs, Willie Nelson, and yes I'll listen to country because I'll do what it takes to make people dance

TV - The Walking Dead, Breaking Bad, Spartacus, Game of Thrones, House of Cards, Mad Men (of course), and just started watching The West Wing.

Food - Japanese, Indian, Thai, Italian. But if I had to pick a favorite, it would be Mexican and Latin food. Meat, carbs, and spice, perfect working man's food
