About Me

Hi! I am Marco, 23 years from Italy,
I studied Economy and Statistics in Turin and I'm currently in Sao Jorge, Azores to work in a restaurant and doing volounteering in the private garden with the biggest number of tropical and subtropical fruits in Portugal. I love nature and its rythms, its colours and sounds. I use to travel in backpacker way to enjoy the absence of plans and be more connected to the people I meet during the trip; I have been in Norway, Iceland, Finland, Germany and in the centre of Italy without places to stay planning day by day what to do.
I define myself as a curious person so I hope to meet people that have different cultures or ideas. I am an easy adaptable person. I am passionated in chess, economics and in general to society.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am on Couchsurfing because I really enjoy contact with local people when I travel. In general I am not really expansive but I like speaking and sharing informations. I am really adaptable.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like electronic music. In Azores we had a dj set in the restaurant and sometimes I could use it to entertain customers in the night but I'm still training at it. During the summer I asked to a lot of customers from all over the world to suggest books about the field they were passionated to, and I would be happy to share the list and expand it. This list will be useful because I'm planning to pass the winter in Azores with bad weather and hurricanes so I'm putting a lot of effort on it

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

In 2016 I won italian team chess championship and then I became chess trainer. I think that chess are a fascinating sport because it's about all the aspects of the mind, not only the rational part

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach chess ofc, or Italian. In general I don't have problems with english, and I can speak a little french. Currently I am learning Portuguese. I can prepare some good pasta :)
