Overview
About Me
Hey, I am Marco from Rülzheim, Germany! I study Law in Trier which makes it possible for me to host travelers in both places, depending on my current location. Whoever wants to stay with me, let me know and we'll figure something out. If possible I would love to take guests on short trips to show them the region I'm living in or at least help with organizing your own trips.
"There are no strangers, just friends we haven't met"
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I experienced incredible hospitality during my first bigger overseas trip which led me to the US, Canada and South America. People opened there homes for me and friends as if it was the most natural thing in the world, that's why I want to offer the same hospitality to travelers who visit Germany.
Staying in hostels was a lot of fun for me since you meet people from all over the world, to get the local experience one has to be among locals which is what Couchsurfing offers. That is definitely Couchsurfing's biggest advantage.
Interests
All kinds of music, mostly Rock and Metal, but I'm open-minded towards everything. I love sports, football in particular (I'm German, what else?! ;)), running, kick-boxing, ice hockey, cycling....
Obviously, traveling and meeting new people, every single person has a different story to tell and it's always exciting to here them.

Music, Movies, and Books
My favorite band is Iron Maiden but as I said I like listening to all kinds of stuff.
I really enjoy watching a good movie, not necessarily of a particular genre, but I have to mention that I'm a huge Star Wars nerd, certainly my favorite movie...and may the force be with you!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
My first big journey on my own that led me from Calgary, Alberta, Canada to South America for backpacking in Patagonia (Argentina & Chile), completely through Chile and to Bolivia to see the Salar de Uyuni. After that I stayed with friends in Illinois, USA and took a 4-week (2150 mi/ 3460 km) bicycle trip from Central Illinois around Lake Superior. It was a fantastic experience because the "travel bug" definitely got me which is basically why I'm on Couchsurfing.
