About Me

About Me
Hi! I'm Marco, an adventurous Argentinian, and I've been with my girlfriend Sol since 2023. This is our very first trip together to Southeast Asia, and we can't think of a better way to start it than by connecting with the wonderful Couchsurfing community!

Prefer watching instead of reading? Check out either of these two videos to get to know me:
• Asia Adventure 2016 (10‑week trip): https://youtu.be/pp47bRwVC5U
• Egypt Adventure 2022: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sle_ThjdSiI

I have always loved to travel. My goal is to have fun, laugh, meet new people from different cultures and enjoy life—because that's what we're here for!

In 2016 I got tired of routine, bought a one‑way ticket to Barcelona, and spent a year working in a hostel. After that I backpacked alone for three months across Asia.

I'm very sociable and open‑minded. I love a relaxed chat but I'm also up for a good party! I'm super energetic and always willing to step out of my comfort zone to try new things—food, places, cultures, experiences.

Today I work as a Product Manager at Despegar, Latin America's biggest travel‑tech company, and I also take acting classes because I think it's an amazing way to express myself (yes, acting is way more fun than working!).

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Couchsurfing is an amazing way to discover cities and cultures through the eyes of locals. I'd love to experience a bit of local life while sharing stories and laughs.

Interests

I thrive on immersing myself in new cultures—sharing meals with locals, learning their traditions, and diving into experiences that push me outside my comfort zone. From tasting fiery street food to joining spontaneous neighborhood celebrations, I believe the best memories happen when you let a place shape you.

Music, Movies, and Books

Anything that makes people dance! When it's time to relax, I enjoy some chill tunes.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

• Bungee jumping in South Africa (the second‑tallest in the world).
• Riding the Death Route in Bolivia (60 km downhill by bike).
• Helping to rescue people with the Red Cross during floods in Argentina.
• Traveling solo for three months around Asia (Philippines, Vietnam, Cambodia and Thailand).
• Learning to meditate.
• Acting on stage in front of 80 spectators.

Teach, Learn, Share

I’m always up for a good conversation on almost any topic. As a Product Manager, I geek out on everything related to product, technology, and startups—happy to brainstorm features or swap best practices.

I can teach Spanish, share some fun acting exercises, and cook an Argentine meal (or a killer brunch) for us. In return, I’m eager to learn your local recipes, language basics, or any life hacks you’re willing to share.

Anything that helps us have a great time and a few laughs! I've visited 24 countries and have plenty of stories to tell.
