I come from Italy (near Venice, where I go back for the summer), and I moved to NYC two years ago. At the moment I’m a PhD student at Columbia University working on medieval literature and history.
Finally I’ve got my own studio so now I can start hosting (and looking forward to being hosted during my next travel).

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

When I travel I think that the best way to discover a place is through the eyes of a local, and when I host I’m always glad to share my knowledge (and tips) with my guests.

Music, Movies, and Books

I read a lot for my job (not always enjoyable stuff), so during the summer I look for different books. I’m usually interested in historic and epic novels, but sometimes also in detective stories!
I really like horror and spy movies (both classic and modern), but also good comedies.
I’m not a big music expert, but always ready to discover new genres and artists. Looking forward for some suggestions!

I‘m glad to share my interests and of to learn new things (or try new activities) with my guests or my hosts.
I’m trying to learn new languages (not very successfully at the moment), so any help will be appreciated!
I teach Italian at Columbia so I’m more than happy to help anyone who wants to learn my native language.
