I was a host for many years but now I find myself on the road and hope I can meet some other great hosts in my travels. Chances are I’ll be with my Landrover or if it’s not in Europe I might just be on foot… or maybe also with the Landrover :-). All my profile is out of date but I want to leave it as it is for history sake. It’s still useful to help know me :-)

I'm a British Expat living on the edge of Brasov in Romania. I work for a company in the UK (remotely from home) and run a small offroad tour company. The company also offers other support services like mountain rescue coordination for walkers. Not sure if I can put a link here but if you google "offroad tours in Transylvania" you will soon find me "transylvaniaoffroad dot com"

Por que estou no Couchsurfing?

I started couch surfing when I had a large house with extra rooms and it seemed a waste.. I've moved twice since then and made it a priority to have couch surfing space because I really enjoy meeting new people and having them stay.

Interesses

I am a telecommunications specialist and spend a lot of time playing around with radios, phones, trackers and IT stuff.

When not doing that I enjoy exploring the mountains in one of my Landrovers doing what most people consider to be extreme off roading.

In addition, I provide emergency medical assistance for remote areas (bit like mountain rescue) and attend many public events such as Town Fairs, motorsport rallys and other public gatherings.

Músicas, Filmes e Livros

I like a wide range of music but generally dont like folk, country and here in Romania, Manelle. Anything with a nice tune, beat and or rhythm is generally "music to my ears"

I generally only read non-fiction such as "A Universe from Nothing" by Lawrence Krause and Richard Dawkins or "A Briefer History of Time" by Stephen Hawking.

I enjoy all kinds of movies, Comedy, Romance, Drama, Action, War etc.. Not too keen on Horror with supernatural and certainly don't like movies like SAW.

I would be happy to pass on my knowledge of science and the universe, quantum physics, relativity and would be more than happy to meet someone with a greater knowledge to learn more from.

In every day stuff, I can teach you how drive offroad, use a paper map and compass, use a digital map and GPS, anything related to communicating with radio and satellite.

In addition, if you are interested in the mechanical side of Landrovers, I can take you though the basics and show you how to keep it going if you have a problem in the middle of nowhere.
