About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Long distance cycling. Meet people. Rinse. Repeat.
ABOUT ME
Introduction:
Hi! My name is Marcus Thompson, I'm 28, and I'm a professor at Purdue. I've biked across the United States three times, and I met great people everywhere I went. That's what made my trip great - the people. So, I would love to help your travels and hear about your journey.
PHILOSOPHY
Try to follow Jesus' example and love people.
How do I do that?
Charity:
I was introduced to Habitat for Humanity in 2011 through a bike ride fundraiser. I enjoyed the ride, but then I found out more about the cause of affordable housing. I try to do some builds on the weekends and help with the Purdue student chapter. I've now ridden over 9,600 miles for affordable housing after that first 350 mile ride.
Everyday:
I think it is also important to serve people in everyday life. That's the hard one. It's easy to volunteer on a weekend. I try to treat people like I want to be treated.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I've biked across the United States twice with the organization Bike & Build. It's purpose is to raise awareness and funds for affordable housing. We build homes with Habitat for Humanity and other organizations along the way. Those were the best two summers. I made some amazing friends.
I've also traveled to Canada, Great Britain, Spain, Italy, France, Jordan, Israel, and China.
Teach, Learn, Share

Learn:
Not sure what I want to learn that I can pick up an introduction in a day or two.

I can share some Louisiana recipes or just some stories from my cross country cycling trips.
