About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Be Happy... Explore the world

ABOUT ME

I currently live in New York City, where I teach ESL (English as a Second Language) to adults from around the world. I have lived in NYC for four years and absolutely love it! Before New York, I spent four years in Japan -- one year in the rural countryside in Southern Japan, and three years in the heart of Tokyo. It was incredible -- Tokyo is by far one of the best cities I have ever lived in! I make a point to travel internationally as much as I can. My recent adventures abroad include a trip back to Japan, and a tri-country romp through Europe, where I CouchSurfed along the way!

PHILOSOPHY

Stay in the moment.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I occasionally meet up with CouchSurfers in NYC. I have been on an "Invasion," in which about 40 New Yorkers carpooled to Upstate New York to trek through Niagara Falls and Buffalo. Last year (2010), I had my first international CouchSurfing experience: I surfed in Amsterdam and in Sicily. Absolutely amazing, each one of my CS experiences!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Buffalo Invasion! Surfing and meeting fellow CSers in Amsterdam and Sicily. To be continued...

Music, Movies, and Books

I am a huge fan of all works by Haruki Murakami.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

How about three amazing things? (1) Watching the World Cup on a rooftop overlooking the Mediteranean Sea in Sicily. (2) Being in the heart of Amsterdam when the Netherlands beat Slovakia in the World Cup finals in 2010. (3) Clad with an all-access backstage pass, standing stage left as the White Stripes took the main stage at the Fuji Rock Music Festival in Japan.

Teach, Learn, Share

I am a NYC history buff. I live in Brooklyn, which has a rich American Revolutionary War history. I am also a certified ESL teacher -- I'm pretty good at teaching English :-)

Countries I’ve Visited

Canada, China, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Netherlands, Spain, Switzerland, Thailand, United Kingdom
