Overview
About Me
I care a lot about social justice, particularly issues of racial and economic justice. Environmental issues are also really important to me. Besides English, I speak Spanish with reasonable, non-native fluency; rusty French; and smatterings of Italian, Arabic, and Hebrew (each of which I would like to improve).
I don't smoke, do any drugs, and rarely drink. I am vegetarian (but I'm ok with you eating meat).
When I'm hosting, I have a very early schedule, so I go to bed early, but it's ok if you come in later. I usually won't have much time to go out and show you the city, but I can give you tips and suggestions for your adventures. I am very busy with my job - I am a public defender, which is an attorney who represents people accused of crimes who cannot afford a private lawyer, and my work is very demanding. So some weeks or months won't work for me, but many are ok.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
One of my primary goals in traveling is to get to know people who live where I am. I like to learn how other people think, and I like to get an opportunity to see places through other people's eyes. CS is a great way to make that possible, both in my home and elsewhere.
Interests
Games, spending time with friends, films, reading, walking-hiking-backpacking-snowshoeing, vegetable gardening, yoga and meditation, foraging for wild food (like morels, chanterelles, and wild greens), meeting new people, and learning new things.
