I'm currently on a road trip to Slovenia/Croatia with my good friend Samuel. We're doing mostly camping and hiking in the countryside, but we would also like to meet some locals when we visit larger villages or cities.

We're university students from Prague (microbiology / film sound engineering) and we've been friends for many years. We're both very much into music (mostly electronic) and the culture surrounding it, Samuel has a band too. Overall I'd say we're very relaxed and open-minded.

I live in a shared flat with two of my close friends, all sharing interests like indoor plants, low-waste (mostly vegan too) lifestyle and dance music culture. I'm also interested in nutrition, medicinal plants and in general in what effect do certain things (food and drugs included) have on our body. But really, I'm quite laidback and open to a lot of topics and conversations, whatever comes up at the moment.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Aside from saving money and giving me shelter during my travels, surfing also gave me an opportunity to meet really cool, interesting and great people, so I find it perfect for travelling. I didn't realise it before, but to have such close contacts with people living in the country really is the best and maybe the only way to actually get to know the culture. I believe that's what makes the difference between a tourist and a traveller.

Music, Movies, and Books

I don't have a set genre that I would listen to, though I do favor various types of electronic music, both dance and ambient. I can also appreciate artists of other genres, including indie, soul, rap and even classical.

Although I don't spend much time watching movies, one show that I like a lot is Fresh Prince. I've also enjoyed others, like Black Mirror, Game of Thrones, Friends..

Books are definitely something I'm looking to put more time into! But so far my experience as a reader is very laughable.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

My squash career has certainly given me something to look back to, attending several European Championships as part of Czech national team and even making it into top 10 in world junior rankings for a while.

Also to travel alone for a month in France was the best thing I have done for myself in quite some time. I'm looking forward to more experiences like this as I would like to do a similar backpack in other places too.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share the few bits that I know about microbiology, fermentation, vegan diet and lifestyle or taking care of plants indoors if you're interested. I also enjoy cooking, so preparing a shared meal is not a problem!
