Overview
About Me
I'm a professional male in my 40-ies. I travel either on my own or with one or both of my daughters (17 & 20).
I work with young people (both my students and my colleagues), so that is my natural habitat - the simplest way to explain why I don't fancy serious hotels and aristocratic mansions...
UPDATE: I took up running a year ago and it is now an important part of my life. Practising for my first marathon (Sept 2018).
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I value the authentic experience you miss when staying at impersonal places. Can't imagine myself on a package tour - have to see a place from an insider's perspective
Interests
Books, music, politics, foreign languages and cultures, history of places and people.
I'm a language teacher, so meeting new people through their own environment and culture seems natural to me.
I work as a writer/columnist, too - so curiosity about places and cultures comes natural.

Music, Movies, and Books
Lots of stuff from classic music to contemporary jazz and music stuff. I like David Mitchell's books, European cinema, R&B and classic music, Woody Allen films and some obscure Polish directors ;)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I've fed a hungry person once or twice, while quite broke myself ;)
Besides... Well... Slept in French parks and on Polish beaches, travelled from Berlin to Lyon for just a bottle...
Other than that?
Perhaps... yes:
I've successfully prepared my students to compete at music festivals and competitions - despite no formal credentials in music/vocal coaching.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you English, Polish or Russian, I can also teach you about the history and politics of Central Europe - and obviously show you around.
And happy to join you on a run, if you do - as it is likely to fit in my running plans. Or show you some other activities available around, should you be an active type!
What I Can Share with Hosts
If lucky - some lazy hours wandering around the more mysterious parts of Warsaw.
And we can always share a chat and a laugh, a meal in or out and some tips for moving around the place.
