Hi, my name is Maren. I am a 29 years old primary school teacher from Germany. I teach English and music, which I am very passionate about. I like to sing, play the flute and other instruments and just love to dance.
I usually don't like to be by myself but enjoy spending time with friends and roommates etc.
Usually after luch I tend to get tired and enjoy a nice afternoon nap or to sleep in in the morning.
Right now, I am hitchhiking with my boyfriend Reno to Iran and Nepal, to get out of my comfort zone and get to know all of those beautiful and interesting countries.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

When I travel to other countries I enjoy spending time with locals. They know their country so well and just by being themselves, they show me their culture much better than books ever could. That is why during my studies I used to stay in foreign countries for longer than just short periods, in order to get to know the people better.
Now, I am working and don't have the time to travel to only one place for one year. So I decided to sleep at peoples homes when possible, in order to get to know them and their lives and also to not be alone on my travels.
