About Me
Im in the Spring of my life!
Now I am going with the train to Glasgow to participate in the activities surrounding the climate conference (COP26). I would like to be with a host who is interested in hosting someone during my time there! (Im vaccinated)
Good day, about me.. My name is Marenthe I live and work in the Netherlands and I am an independant female solo traveler. I love doing sports like climbing in the Alps, sailing on a lake and fixing stuff in my new little house. Also I like dogs a lot. a lot. a loot. Im interested in education for sustainability which asks the question how to educate/empower the future generation for the challenges ahead. Also I farm and I am thinking of starting a regenerative farm!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
In 2018 in Nepal I met a very very amazing woman and together we walked the Annapurna Circuit. It was an experience that I would never forget and the sheer freedom was immense. So I wanted to visit her and see ther home country she had talked so much about. I went and did my first couch surfing in Tel Aviv where the host showed me immense trust and the area through his eyes. It felt like something just....too good! After this experience I felt ready for some more couchsurfing.
In Japan I was interested in the Japanese kitchen and customs so I met up with an amazing host through Couchsurfing who cooked me a beautiful meal and shared his life stories. I was sold.
After comparing this with other travel experiences, I realized I do not enjoy travelling the regular way while not meeting locals. So thats why I am here!
Interests
I love climbing outdoors, and I teach climbing to little kids. There is just something about seeing those little ones go up rock! In the past months I have found out about a passion for horses, riding bareback on those animals is suuuuper nice.
