Overview
About Me
I'm an American from the Midwest teaching English in Kuwait. I love reading, hiking, traveling, live music and food with a story.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
To connect with like-minded people, to experience a local perspective, to explore with adventurous travel partners
Interests
Id like to study public health- specifically how our social world has an impact on the health of communities. I'm interested in intersectional feminism, religions of the world, migration, politics, world history from multiple perspectives, graphic novels, trying to ferment things, cooking, This American Life podcast, yin yoga, hiking and camping, uncovering family history, dancing, multiple course meals, all things creative expression, sustainable agriculture. When exploring a new city I love to eat baked goods, sit for a while in a cafe, walk through parks and explore different neighborhoods, get the perspective of a local, checkout grocery stores and pharmacies, catch live music, observe advertising and architecture.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
lived in Senegal for 8 months studying and working in the area of grassroots sustainable development.
Teach, Learn, Share
I love to learn about all things, especially related to daily life and culture in different places and communities, connections and interactions between our histories and families and dreams and societies. I'm passionate about social justice and would love to share my experiences and passions, open mind and spirit through cooking, walking, a cup of tea and art activity, or any proposed adventure.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Food, laughter, experiences, encouragement. An open mind and curiosity for learning new things.
