ABOUT ME

I am a lazy, restless person. I love to travel but I love more to live and get to know a place. So if I can do both at the same time, its an ideal situation. After a long time working as a lecturer in Zambia, I am happy to be home in the far north - in the other extreme. But still, my knees itch to jump on a bus or hang around at an airport waiting for my next flight to something new. More than this, i miss the good feeling of being "home" in a strange place. While working full time it is not so easy to get that good old feeling back, having short time to travel and staying in cold hotels. So maybe couchsurfing is a way to be more home away from home, and to more easily get over the compulsary "lost-in-a-new-place" tourist routine.

PHILOSOPHY

There is no bigger meaning than to enjoy life, even the downs. So if i cry, i can also laugh at the same time. Moreover, having a good time is worth nothing if your environment is suffering. Take care! Of everything and everyone.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I currently live in my home town and that is how i am able to host. I enjoy having visitors and i dont mind sharing my space now and then. I am soon about to go on my first surf! And im planning a longer trip around southern Europe and southern Africa in september/october. Hope it will come to life!

Interests

I like cultural input, concerts, exhibitions, hiking, experiencing the odd sides of places, talking to old people, young people, in-between people, having long dinner parties, hang out in bars or cafés, i like to be active and to do nothing! I like no plans and i like schedules. Call me easy going...

Music, Movies, and Books

Acoustic, folk music, jazz, rock, singer/songwriter, tango, anyone who can amaze me with their skills or expression or just put me in a certain mood. So im all into music created by the hands of people. But i dont mind to shake off to some electronic vibes either. Sometimes you have to go with the flow!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

- (Zambia) The morning i called one of my favorite taxi drivers to pick me up, and he told me he came straight from the bush after an alittletoomuch intreaguing night experience with an angry elephant and a lost, british tourist....

- (At home, Northern Norway) Every one of those days i wake up and decide to jump onto my skis and go hiking in the frozen, fairytale landscape.

- (Zambia - rural areas) Any of the many evenings i took baths under the stars in those little straw-thatched bathrooms with a cockroach or a chicken or a puppy as my only companion. Then to fall asleep like a baby at 21.30 because there is nothing else to do.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you norwegian language, norwegian folk tunes, skiing, norwegian folk dance, the argentine tango, making completely insanely good hot chocolate, gorilla walk and other very useful life skills.

I would love to learn everything! Arts/crafts, songs, cooking, more argentine tango or other dances, playing instruments, sports, tricks, history, geology, languages, ah! Teach me!
