Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Well, I hosted several times at my apartment in Daejeon, South Korea. I have surfed in Asia, the US and Europe. I've attended a handful of CSing events in my hometown of Minneapolis and hosted here as well.
Positive! Many of my most memorable travel experiences have been thanks to this great site!
Meeting inspiring people, dancing all night, sunrise bike rides along the Mississippi River, figure drawing co-op, yoga on the beach, reading, quiet mornings, meaningful conversation, gymnastics, studying languages, anything that's fun!
Music, Movies, and Books
Books: Haruki Murakami, Jonathan Safran Foer, Gabriel Garcia Marquez, A Natural History of the Senses, Barbara Kingsolver, graphic novels and art history nonfiction
Music: Manu Chao is always my #1; Minha Galera is the song of my heart! Bob Dylan, Tryo, Sigur Ros, Baths... so many more!
Movies: Baraka, Before Sunrise, Before Sunset, Spirited Away, Boyhood
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Teaching the 36 best children in the world! (my class for 2 years in Korea)
Teach, Learn, Share
My favorite thing to teach is how to read and write in Korean (it's quite easy)! um, also English and how to draw a portrait...I'm constantly trying to improve my cooking skills, so I always love a cooking lesson! A lifelong goal is to be fluent in multiple languages....currently feeling Japanese!
Share? That's the whole point of CSing! Share knowledge, compassion, enthusiasm, a couch, a meal, a story.
