Hi! I'm Maria and I am from Sa Pobla, a little village from Mallorca (Balearic Islands, Spain). I'm 18 years old and next year I'm going to university to study Philosophy, Politics and Economy in Barcelona.

I play the piano and the trombone. I am a member of the local band, and I really like playing with my fellows. Music is something that fascinates me, and not only because of its huge influence on people, but also the amazing creative process it implicates.

I also am very interested in popular culture and folk music. I love learning about the roots of mallorcan culture, my culture, because it helps me to understand where I come from, why and how. Consequently, I also enjoy learning about other cultures because it means learning about new ways to understand the world. In fact, languages also catch my attention, not only their structure and syntax, but also its cultural and historical background.

This is my senior year, so next year I'll go to university. For this reason I have decided (together with my friend Paula) to plan a great trip. This summer, during July and August, we will be traveling around Europe with an Interrail ticket, and we need hosts :) We would be very happy to offer a great company and cultural exchange with anyone (with good will) who'd like to host us.
