My name's Maria, but you can call me Masha!) I'm from Russia and I'm a huge fan of learning languages. The more I learn the more excited I get. And to learn more about the languages I'm fluent in and to learn new languages I need to travel. Staying in hotels may be fun and luxurious, but I value human interaction and strongly believe that what local people can show me in their home towns or places they live in would be much more valuable than all those strictly written excursions. So, I do hope I will be able to couch surf someday! Looking forward to meeting new people!

我为什么加入 Couchsurfing

As soon as I learned about Couchsurfing when I was teaching my students the ways of travelling in different countries, I fell in love with the idea at once. Being able to explore new cultures and interesting places that might not even be on the list of popular tourist attractions creates an unforgettable experience. Couchsurfing gives an opportunity to share my culture with others and learn a lot about foreign cultures first-hand. I love making friends with new people from all over the world! It is also an opportunity to learn a bit of as many languages as possible! I'm a passionate language learner and an always excited by the prospect of talking to people in their native language. Hope I will be able to find new connections to make my dreams come true and share my culture with everyone interested!

Fav. Music: I love rock music and all the connected genres! I'm a huge fan of Scorpions, Bullet for my Valentine, 30 Seconds to Mars, etc.
Fav. Books: Harry Potter 1-7, Terry Pratchett's Discworld books (read half of them already, huge fan), The Catcher in the Rye, many Sidney Sheldon's books, Agatha Christie, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's Sherlock Holmes Series, Master and Margarita, Fathers and Sons by I.S. Turgenev and many others.

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

I've been to Bremen and took a German language course. It was amazing! We did Wattwanderung to Insel Neuwerk, 12km on foot over the bottom of the North Sea during the flow!
I've also been on a Scorpions concert dedicated to their 50th anniversary and the new album "Return to Forever". It was unforgettable and a real dream come true!
