About Me

Hi, my name ist Maria and I'm completely new to CS, but very happy to be here. I've heard amazing things. :)
I love getting to experince different cultures and new parts of this beautiful world. I'm very fond of nature and animals and I'm a quite active person. I enjoy listening to audio books, doing sports, playing music, spending time with friends and family and just learning all sorts of new things.
I'm studying to become a secondary school teacher for the subjects Biology, German and Philosophy in Kiel, Germany. Currently, I'm doing my master's thesis in education at the University of Melbourne.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm living in a student housing building in Melbourne at the moment and I wanted to travel to nearby places before I have to go back to Germany in December. Since I don't know anyone in Tasmania, it would be great to get to stay at a place with nice people around, who might be able to give me some tips for things do to around (and might even wanna accompany me, if you feel like it). And since I also don't know Tasmania yet, what better way to stay with a local who might be able to share some hidden spots with me? Also, I'm still studying and therefore can't afford an expensive accommondation. So, CS sounded perfect to me! :)

Music, Movies, and Books

I have to admit, I do really enjoy plain vanilla pop music. But I also love classical music, rock, indie, dance/electronic and alot more.
I love me a good drama to watch, but I also really enjoy comedy or a simple rom-com.
My favourite genre of books would probably be fantasy, but I also really enjoy reading the old classics and philosophy.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One very special memory to me is watching the sunset at Carlo Sandblow Rainbow Beach. :))

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm not an expert in anything, but I do know at least something in most topics, that I could share or we could talk about. In generel, I'd just love to get to know how you see the world.
I can definitely try to share some of my knowledge and perspectives in the areas that I study, if you would like that. For example: It would be a pleasure to me to teach you some German, if you are interested in that. :)
I can play the accordion and I taught myself some ukulele and piano play - also things, I could help you with.
And, I give a sports course back in Germany including cardio and strenght exercises. So if you would like to, I could offer you free sessions. :))

What I Can Share with Hosts

I love asking deeper questions, to philosophise about life and just sharing experiences.
I'm not an expert in anything, but I do know something in alot of topics, that I could share.
