My name is Maria, I'm half austrian and half spanish and I was born and raised in Bavaria, Germany. At the moment, I'm studying translation at Heidelberg University. I'm open minded, friendly, funny and like almost every other person my age, I love to travel and get to know new places and new people. I don't have many experiences with Couchsurfing but I'd like to change that.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm on Couchsurfing because I think it's a great opportunity to get to know new people and learn about cultures of places you're visiting, hopefully with secret insiders of its local communites. Since I'm a poor student, also one of the reasons/ advantages is because it's for free and a great way to come around places. You only get a real taste of a country by meeting and connecting to it's people.

Interests

I love sports. All kind of sorts including a ball. I play basketball, soccer, volleyball, tennis.. But I basically love all sports. Also I'm interested in learning new languages. As an Au pair you meet a lot of other Au pairs coming from all over the world and I got to learn a few things in Italian, Brazilian Portuguese, Spanish and French. I wouldn't say I can really talk but I'm willing to try and learn anything from other languages ☺️

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I was an Au Pair in the US for a year between 2015-2016, and I had a lovely time with my four little host kids and all the friends I've made. I met so many cool people, who I'm still friends with/ meeting/ talking to.
