Hey, CS community! Thanks for being open and generous!

I was born in the South of Russia - warm andhospitable region with lots of diverse nature around. At the age of 20 I moved to Saint Petersburg after finishing Masters in finance to start working at the radio station. It wass damn cold out there!
2 years later I moved to NYC to work at another radio station, bartend and study Literature.
I traveled a bunch on my way - and, undoubtedly, it was the best part of it. After graduating I moved to the beautiful Dominican Republic as an international teacher and now I am dying to travel some more!! The plan I have for this summer is Spain and Portugal. Considering the fact that for the last 2 years I am living on the small Caribbean island, I am super thirsty for a cultural, artistic, unknown boost if you know what I mean.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I can not come up with a better way to travel and to get to know new places and cultures, to absorb the essence of new cities and countries.

Interests

Watercolors, literature, words, communication, music, cinema (especially European), hiking, road tripping, sleeping, swimming, biking, backpacking, cooking, mixing drinks and then drinking them, art, museums, live concerts, etc. etc.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: Blues, funk, gypsy folk. My first job was selling music (CDs and DVDs), so back then I considered myself a geek. Amon Tobin, Miles Davis, Aphex Twin, John Coltraine, Portishead, Cooking on 3 Burners, Jamiroqai, Fritz, Kalkbrenner (or how do you spell it?), Buena Vista, Pendulum, Dead Can Dance, Massive Attack, Coldcut, Black Keys, Sweet Vandals, etc. etc.

Filmmakers: Coen Brothers, Von Trier, Lynch, Bergman, Bunuel, Sorrentino, Tarantino, etc.

Books: I am a literature major; let's not even go there.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

My entire life journey amazes me, to be honest:) (not bragging).
I guess the fact that I was born was already an amazing thing to do.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach: Russian, English, a bit of watercolors
I would love to learn anything and everything I don't know!
Share: my time, experiences, food or whatever I would be able to share.
