Hi, my name is Maria and I am a Hatha, Yin and Vinyasa Yoga teacher and Thai Yoga Massage therapist. I moved back to Portugal, my home country, in 2019 after traveling and living abroad for 7 years. My last adventure was in Sri Lanka where I had the opportunity to manage a Surf and Yoga Retreat, an experience that gave me incredible memories. I would love to share with you my time and experience with the world of Yoga and Asia, particularly in magical places like Sri Lanka and India where I’ve also spent a lot of my time. I also love creating things with my hands such as vegan candles and ceramics.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

CS is the best way to meet locals and to spend a good time learning about the culture of a place and the spots only the ones who really live there know about. Both surfers and hosts learn from each other and our network of friends around the world keeps growing and growing.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

In 2015 I went traveling solo to Asia for about half a year. This was an incredible experience and I met amazing people who made the places and the moments really extraordinary. India was the last stop of my trip and a country I fell in love with. My friend who was traveling with me then and I couchsurfed all the way around India and met so many local people who hosted us so well and took really good care of us. It was a pleasure to share our time with them and to learn so much about the Indian culture in this way.

I am now based in Cascais, Lisbon and together with some special humans, I am hosting unique retreat experiences with Yoga, Nature and Sustainability in Portugal.
