Why I’m on Couchsurfing

My good friend and I are planning a trip for this upcoming spring (2016). We will be visiting Oslo, Berlin, Paris, Stockholm and Reykjavik.

We are looking for people to stay with in all cities except Oslo.

We would love to meet fun, out going and engaging people who would be willing to provides us with tips and enjoyable spots in the city, and possibly show us around!

Music, Movies, and Books

I could talk about music forever.
Most of what I've been listening to lately are local bands from Minnesota. My favorite band is Minneapolis based Lucy Michelle & the Velvet Lapelles. Recently the band has regenerated into a new band called Little Fevers, which is different, but still fantastic.
In no order, other music I have on heavy rotation: Punch Brothers, Thao & the Get Down Stay Down, JD McPherson, Vampire Weekend, Sondre Lerche, Ruth Brown, Jack White, Otis Redding, Fiona Apple, Kishi Bashi, Nina Simone, Queen, Paul Simone, Jeremy Messersmith, Local Natives, Hall & Oates.
Really, the list could go on for a very long time.

Since I studied film in school, boiling it down to just one favorite isn't going to happen. Ever.
Some of my favorites off the top of my head are: Trainspotting, Our Hospitality, Billy Elliot, The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari, Almost Famous, Hook, Inglourious Basterds, Rear Window.

Making these last couple lists made me realize I REALLY need to read more. The last book I read was Eleanor & Park by Rainbow Rowell.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Spending 6 months studying abroad in the spring semester of 2012 was one of the best decisions I've ever made. I had the best time of my life being in a new city meeting people and working hard.
On top of all that, while over seas, I stumbled into a hobby that has become a major part of my life, swing dance--more specifically lindy hop.

I cherish all of the friends I made abroad dearly and make trips back to see them on a yearly basis.
