Overview
About Me
My name is Maria Clara, I´m an italian girl, born in the south of my country...in a really small island in the middle of the Mediterrean: Ustica.
I have a degree in italian and european literature, and even though I've never worked in that area, it's still one of my biggest passions. But it's not only literature what I love. I care a great deal about the environment. I love flowers and plants, I'm crazy about traveling and getting to know new cultures and different ways of understanding the world. I enjoy cooking and consider it as my therapy.
In return I can always surprise
I have a lot of experience in a restaurant jobs, nanny and farm jobs! The last 2 years i had been in New Zeland and Aussie where i did picking and packing jobs and i of course i traveled around of this 2 island . Know, me and my boyfriend , we want to start a trip in Asia! We well start in Indonesia and then Malasya and here we will start ours trip by train to Laos.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
So far I've traveled in many places in Europe, Asia and even some countries in Africa, but the best is yet to come. I spend the last two years of my life traveling full time, started off in New Zealand and Australia, where I've stayed for this couple of years. Now it's time for me to get to know Asia better and in depth.
I'm new to couchsurfing but I'm hoping to get a glimpse of the culture of each country through this marvelous service. You don't get to know the place you are traveling inside of a hotel. I want the real deal. I want to experience directly through local people.
Interests
I'm a simple person. Prefer the countryside over the city. Don't wanna be rich, and don't wanna be famous. Just want to explore and enjoy the beauty of the small stuff.

Music, Movies, and Books
I like a very diverse range of music, including jazz, punk, rock, soul and even classical music.
In terms of films, I really like italian films. Directors like Pasolini, De Sica, Virzi or Moretti. But I also enjoy films from the world. I'm not a big fan of Hollywood bestsellers, or romantic comedies, but I do watch them from time to time.
Now regarding books, I love italian neorealism from the 50s and 60s. Authors like Moravia, Pasolini and Morante. I also love japanese literature like Murakami. And i do enjoy any kind of book that makes me think and challenges my mental boundaries.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I'm a great cook. There's not a single italian dish I can't cook. I can always prepare your favourite italian dishes!
And also I'm a great talker, I love to share experiences and learn about yours and your culture.
