About Me

I smile a lot. I grew up near Yellowstone National Park and am grateful to have explored the playgrounds of mountains, forests, rivers, and lakes. I love to adventure outdoors- hiking, camping, skiing, running, bike riding, slacklining, rock & ice climbing, swimming, wild crafting. I like to dance! And do yoga. I have made a lifestyle of traveling and skill building; living seasonally in different places throughout Montana, Oregon, Southeast Alaska, and the Puget Sound. I did a Permaculture Design Course last year, which has supplemented my interest in sustainable living and agriculture skills. I like to make tea and herbal medicine. I have a furry travel and hiking buddy named Sherman; he is a friendly and funny black lab-chow with expressive ears and a charming stub-tail.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am on Couchsurfers because I appreciate connecting with community as much as I love exploring new landscapes. I am grateful for all of the new friends I have made through traveling, and enjoy providing others with a cozy place to stay and swap stories.

Music, Movies, and Books

Favorites can change as fast as the weather does. I like a variety of music; classic rock to reggae to singer-songwriters to world rhythms and vibe-y electronic beats. Some of my favorite bands right now are Rising Appalachia and Medicine for the People. I don't watch movies that often, but I recently saw Smoke Signals and Hector and the Pursuit of Happiness, which were both entertaining. Most of the books I keep are reference/study books on permaculture and holistic health, but some memorable novels include The Kin of Ata Are Waiting For You, and The Alchemist.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I am grateful to have had the opportunity to fly in a helicopter to work, and explore the glacier every day. The glaciers themselves are the amazing part :)

Teach, Learn, Share

We are all students and all teachers. Listen to each other. Help each other. Take care of the Earth. Love and Gratitude!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share some smiles and stories, canine "service animal" benefits, impromptu dance parties and stretch sessions, tasty cooking, and respect. I value shared spaces and do my best to leave them better than I found them.
